Product Review: FutureSource Workstation by David Penn

Is there a more prominent franchise in the world of futures news, data, and analysis than FutureSource? I cannot think of how many times I’ve pulled a dusty volume from the voluminous shelves of the Technical Analysis, Inc., library in search of wisdom from the commodity traders and analysts of yore, only to find that wisdom accompanied by a price chart courtesy of FutureSource. This, of course, is not to say that the futures industry has not been blessed with its share of heavy hitters over the years — from top-notch analyst and brokerage services and firms to publications (including the one you are currently reading) to data and chart software providers. But few objective observers could deny that if there was one word that has been synonymous with news, data, and analysis of the futures markets over the past 25-odd years, then that word would be FutureSource. In a world of many great challengers and even greater champions, FutureSource remains — in many ways — The Franchise.
