Product Description
Sidebar: Neurons by Wolf von Rönik
NEURONS
The basic structure of a brain neuron is
illustrated in sidebar Figure 1. Reading
from left to right, axons carry electrical
impulses or signals of varying strengths to
synapses, which are small gaps between
the axons and the dendrites. The function
of the synapses is to enhance or retard the
strength of the signals they receive from
the axons, then send the results down the
dendrites into the soma.
