V. 20:1 (67-70): Product Review: Behold! by Dennis D. Peterson
Product Description
Behold! by Dennis D. Peterson
Macintosh users, rejoice!
There is trading software
out there that you can
download and use with
end-of-day data, and the
software is Behold! Using a Mac with a
40MHz processor and OS 7.6.2, I was
able to install Behold! and download
Commodity Systems, Inc. (CSI), end-of-
day data (I also had to download
freeware called SpiffyCharts to interface
with CSI). The first day I used the
product, the initial portfolio definition
to retrieve CSI data didn’t work, but
after shutting down and trying again the
next day, I managed to retrieve the data
for the six symbols, with no changes
made. Developer Jim Payne also tried it
and after telling me to try it again, it
worked and so did other items. At this
point I am willing to write off a bunch of
odd little failures to my older version of
the operating system. The program can
also be hosted on a PC using a freeware
Mac emulator, BasiliskII, which is
included in the Behold! CD.
