Greg Schnell, CMT, MFTA, is a senior technical analyst at StockCharts.com specializing in intermarket and commodities analysis. Based in Calgary, he is a board member of the Canadian Society of Technical Analysts (CSTA) and the chairman of the CSTA Calgary chapter. He is also an active member of the Market Technicians Association (MTA) and the International Federation of Technical Analysts (IFTA). Schnell was awarded technical blogger of the year as well as technical/trading educator of the year in 2016 by the CSTA. Schnell joined StockCharts.com in 2012. He currently contributes market analysis commentary to the StockCharts.com blogs The Canadian Technician, Commodities Countdown, ChartWatchers, and Don’t Ignore This Chart. He hosts multiple webinars every week. His primary technical interest is in the global intermarket relationships between the equities, bonds, currencies and commodities markets.

Greg, can tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got interested in technical analysis?
I studied geophysics and worked for Royal Dutch Shell, in my case Shell Canada, and did that for 10 years. I then branched out into a few different careers, but one of the big changes that happened along the way was my wife moved to Europe to work with Royal Dutch Shell, and I became a house-husband looking after the family ...
