Big Trends Toolkit 2.0 is a MetaStock plugin with 17 different indicators, 12 templates with a combination of 16 explorations, system tests, and expert advisors, all dealing with trends in one way or another. Given that this is a Price Headley product, you would expect the quality to be high and possibly have some insight into option trades. Logically this makes sense, since software that is trying to find trends would also have something useful to say about options, as profiting from options is tied to knowing the direction or trend of the underlying.
The first thing I liked about this plugin was the manual that comes in the CD case. It explains through words and price charts how to use each of the 17 different indicators. Another plus is that it incorporates these indicators into system tests so you can backtest the performance. Having a means to backtest is a quality feature that I don’t see enough of, so this was a pleasant surprise. As I was going through the manual, the first indicator to catch my attention was the directional movement indicator (DMI) difference indicator.
