Stocks & Commodities V. 26:5 (64-66): Product Review: Market Technician by Dennis D. Peterson
Product Description
Product Review: Market Technician by Dennis D. Peterson
Market Technician is a website
for traders interested
in market timing analysis.
Since John Bollinger
is the creator of this site, it is more than a safe bet that this is
something unique and useful.
You basically choose an indicator,
apply it to a time series and then see if it
trades or predicts well for the same or
different time series. For example, you
could ask, “If I were to use a volume
index based on the NYSE Composite,
would it trade or predict the NYSE Composite
or perhaps trade or predict the
Standard & Poor’s 500 even better?”
You can perform an analysis using 26
different time series, predominantly indexes,
ranging from the familiar Dow
Jones Industrial Average to the lesserknown
AMEX Gold Bugs Index. A range
of indicators are available such as the
moving average convergence/divergence
(MACD) or the volume index.
While you might argue that the variety
of indexes is unique for a single
website, the even more exciting feature
of this site is the manner in which the
indicators are evaluated.
