THE RULE OF ALTERNATION
The Rule of Alternation in Elliott wave theory states that a simple wave 2 will be followed by a complex
wave 4, or, if wave 2 is complex, it will be followed by a simple wave 4. For example, if wave 2 is short
in time and is subdividable to only an a-b-c pattern, then wave 4 may take more time to develop and all of
the corrective waves may be subdividable.
