MetaStock 6.0 for Windows 95 and NT (Equis International) by Thom Hartle If you’re still using Windows 3.1, it’s probably time to upgrade to the Windows 95 platform. Why? Because Windows 95 has features that make life easier for the Windows 3.1 user. For example, Windows 95 is much more stable; programs that are true 32- bit compatible will rarely bring down your entire system if a particular application has a memory problem. Another nice feature of Windows 95 is the ability to multitask in a much more efficient manner. Of course, whenever you think about upgrading your platform, you want to see products being released that will take advantage of the new features. EQUIS International, with its release of MetaStock 6.0 for Windows 95 and NT, is out in front of the technical analysis pack with a native 32-bit application designed specifically for the new platform, carrying the official Microsoft certification. This latest version is an exciting upgrade because of EQUIS’s two-pronged effort. First, of course, EQUIS is setting out to bring a more sophisticated application, and second, EQUIS has also made MetaStock 6.0 Microsoft-certified to be compatible with Microsoft Office 97, so the interface should be very familiar to users who have been working with standard Windows programs. How about an expert indicator (Figure 1)? This latest version of MetaStock has 15 new indicators added to the list, which now has a total of 95 indicators. In addition, there are 25 new formula tools. As for charting, MetaStock 6.0 can display up to 32,000 data points — nearly 125 accumulated years of data! But EQUIS International, in releasing MetaStock 6.0, makes a statement by going beyond just giving technicians better tools with which to trade.
