How do you choose an exchange traded fund (ETF)? Given the number of ETFs that have sprung up over the years, it’s difficult to select the ones you want to put your hard-earned money into. They’ve proliferated like mutual funds. And they have the same categories to confuse you even more. So do you use fundamental analysis, technical analysis, or a combination of both (in my opinion, always a good idea)? Do you pull up a chart to see if the ETF is in an uptrend? What benchmark do you use—another ETF, an individual stock, or one of the indexes?
