For an investor accustomed to trading equities, the forex markets will not be completely foreign (no pun intended), but there are some important fundamental differences between the two. In many ways, the forex market is much simpler than the equity markets, and many of the differences with forex are things that favor the investor. As youíll see, when itís time to explore trading strategies, the types of analysis that are customary in forex differ markedly from stocks.
THE MARKET NEVER SLEEPS
Youíll often hear it said of forex that the markets are open 24/7. While that is not entirely accurate, it is nearly so. The truth is that with forex markets located around the world, at least one is typically open at any time. But similar to other financial markets, forex markets are open five days a week, so there is some downtime on weekends.
