Product Review FXCM Strategy Trader by Jayanthi Gopalakrishnan
Given that the desktop computer may be a thing of the past very soon, it is only logical that software developers come up with products that are conducive to those on the go. Obviously, traders are not going to be left behind as we can see with the increase in the number of platforms that are offering automated trading strategies, or “robotic trading,” as I prefer to call it.
FXCM, a well-known forex broker, has recently released FXCM Strategy Trader (Fxcm ST), a platform that does exactly that. Installation and download is relatively quick and painless. After downloading and installing the product, the first thought that crossed my mind was that it resembled another popular forex trading platform. But there are a few features that are unique to FXCM ST.
When you open the program, the first thing you see is a price chart of a currency pair, a dealing rates window, navigation window, and an account management window (Figure
1). There are a few built-in workspaces that you can start with. The dealing rates window displays live streaming quotes (bid/ask), spreads, pip costs, and minimum margin rates along with a few other choices. You can access these by right-clicking anywhere on the dealing rates window. To view a chart of any currency pair, you just have to drag and drop to the chart window.
From the account management window, you can access all your FXCM accounts. I should mention you can trade multiple accounts at the same time.
