The Quotes Plus data service received rave reviews from us in July 1996. Since then, it’s been enhanced and expanded. Its strength before was copious amounts of inexpensive data; it’s still that, in spades.
In version 2.0, Quotes Plus comes on CD that installs the program while you follow along in an illustrated, step-by-step booklet. I found that very well done, although I found the booklet omitted mentioning you must shut down the set-up program before installing the data buffer. Otherwise, setup was easy, especially the automatic update feature, whereby the program examined my data and then updated, in my case, 16,000 files that the Quotes Plus data server accumulated since the CD was issued to me. Updating is either by direct toll-free phone line to the Quotes Plus bulletin board service, or via your Internet service provider (ISP). In my case, a month passed before I installed the program, but it still handled getting all the intervening days without flinching.
